A leading renewable energy company has lodged an appeal to the Scottish government to rule on plans for a wind farm, which were submitted seven years ago.
The application for the Broadmeadows wind farm development near Selkirk, originally attracted a significant number of letters of both support and opposition, but was unanimously rejected by Scottish Borders Council earlier this year.
As a result of the appeal, lodged by developers GreenPower, the government's Directorate of Planning and Appeals has requested a response from the council on its decision to reject the eight-turbine scheme.
It is the latest move in a long-running planning battle over the scheme in the Yarrow Valley, close to the Southern Upland Way.
When the project was initially conceived and proposals submitted, GreenPower had to reduce an intended 13 turbines down to eight.
This news comes only days after construction has begun on a new wind farm in Sutherland.
