Minister for Skills and Lifelong Learning Keith Brown MSP has officially opened Fintry Primary.
The school has been constructed under Dundee City Council's £90 million PPP project, which has delivered a total of six primaries and two secondaries.
The two-stream Fintry Primary School has 14 classrooms, associated resource rooms, a music/drama studio, assembly hall and games hall, as well as a range of community and other educational facilities. Fintry Nursery has also moved to the building from its previous location.
Pupils have made their own contribution to the primary with a stained glass artwork outlining the values of the school.
The original Fintry Primary opened in 1954 and pupils have now been attending lessons at its replacement since spring last year. They started their first day by making the symbolic short walk between the old building and the new school.
Mr Brown said: "I'm delighted to have the opportunity to officially open Fintry Primary and to share this occasion with pupils, staff and the wider local community.
"Across the country the Scottish Government is supporting local authorities to take forward an ambitious school building programme and Fintry Primary is a great example of everything that a modern, fit-for-purpose school should be."
The PPP project has been carried out by the consortium, Discovery Education Ltd. The consortium includes the city council, Robertson Capital Projects, Robertson Tayside, Robertson Central, Sir Robert McAlpine and Robertson Facilities Management.
