The green light has been given for companies to expand offshore wind power in Scotland.
The Crown Estate, which is the owner of the UK's coastal seabeds, has granted offshore wind licences to energy firms in the Moray Firth and the Firth of Forth.
The new wind rights could see hundreds of new turbines being installed in the Moray Firth by a partnership involving EDP Renewables and SeaEnergy, and in the Firth of Forth by a partnership involving SeaGreen Wind Energy and Airtricity, as well as Fluor.
Prime Minister Gordon Brown said: "Our policies in support of offshore wind energy have already put us ahead of every other country in the world."
Fife firm Burntisland Fabrications have been given a grant of £1.5m to support the supply chain.
