Red Rock Renewables is supporting Edinburgh Science's Careers Hive for a second consecutive year, helping pupils aged 11–14 explore future pathways in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM).
The free four-day programme, staged at the National Museum of Scotland in the last week of October, welcomes around 2,000 young people to take part in hands-on STEM activities and quiz professionals working across the sector about their jobs.
Careers Hive aims to broaden horizons by showcasing multiple routes into rewarding roles and demonstrating how individual skills, experiences and interests can translate into unexpected opportunities.
Alongside financial backing, a team of Red Rock Renewables STEM Ambassadors has been working directly with pupils throughout the week, demonstrating how electricity is generated, discussing roles across the energy sector and highlighting the transferable skills that underpin successful careers. In 2025, 87% of Careers Hive attendees reported they had gained a better understanding of jobs available in STEM.
Clare Hart-McCullagh, Head of Corporate Support at Red Rock Renewables, said: "We are so pleased to be supporting Careers Hive again this year. The event is a fantastic opportunity for young people from Edinburgh and the surrounding areas to discover the wide range of opportunities available within STEM and explore how their skills and interests can help shape a sustainable future in a fun and engaging environment."
Hassun El-Zafar, Director and CEO at Edinburgh Science, said: "Red Rock Renewables have been a valuable supporter of Careers Hive over the last two years, sharing our mission that providing young people with a better understanding of STEM skills and careers will lead to better opportunities in the future. Thanks to their sponsorship and participation of volunteers, we can welcome around 2,000 pupils to Careers Hive this year and provide them with a real-world view of the jobs and opportunities STEM subjects open up."
Red Rock Renewables continues to engage young people through a range of STEM outreach initiatives and sponsorship programmes, showcasing the breadth of opportunities across the renewable energy industry. Its trained STEM Ambassadors deliver practical sessions for local schools, clubs and community groups. For visit enquiries, contact Charlotte at [email protected].
