Whilst many companies are cutting back in the current economic downturn, Pearson Donaldson Properties are looking to the future and are currently developing new office accommodation at Cavalry Park in Peebles.
Pearson Donaldson Properties has already developed 12 business units on site providing 20,000 square feet of office space at Rowan Court and Silverbirch Studios.
The company’s latest venture, Cherry Court, will provide a further 11 business units amounting to 11,500 square feet of modern office accommodation. The development comprises of a nest of 3 single storey pavilions and there is a good selection of office layouts which can be purchased, leased or rented with an option to buy. Construction work commenced on site just before Christmas and should be completed in September 2009.
Scottish Enterprise, responsible for masterplanning and site infrastructure recently sold the last remaining plot of around one acre to Pearson Donaldson.
Nigel Watson, Director for Infrastructure at Scottish Enterprise, said: "This is a major step in completing Cavalry Park's facilities and we are delighted to be working with Pearson Donaldson who are clearly looking to the future to grow their portfolio in difficult trading times.
"They already have a good proven record for developing on the park and the further development of offices will provide Cavalry Park with an impressive mix of facilities to help capture business growth, employment and maximise economic returns for the regional economy."
The Business Park provides a value for money location in a beautiful environment, ample car parking, easy access to the town centre’s facilities and should provide attractive premises to any firm with office space requirements.
Andy Pearson, Managing Director of Pearson Donaldson Properties further commented "Over 50% of office space on the project has already been sold at Cherry Court and despite the economic downturn there is still a firm demand from businesses and pension investors seeking to purchase offices of around 1000 square feet. Construction work is being performed by Tweed Homes."
This development will complement Cavalry Parks reputation as a key business location in the Borders for encouraging business growth and inward investment to assist employment, economic development and diversification. Companies that have invested in the business park include Thomas Rogerson and Sons, Rugbystore.co.uk, James Inglis, EBS, and Techauto ltd who have recently completed an office with warehouse scheme of 15,000 sq ft and have secured several occupants.
