The first phase in a series of works to improve footways and carriageways in Linlithgow will commence on Monday, October 28, West Lothian Council has announced.
This initial phase will run until Wednesday, November 20, with works focusing on a section of the A803 High Street from the crossing outside the Medical Centre along to the Golden Chip shop.
The existing temporary footpath will be replaced with improved drainage, new kerbing and the extension of a permanent footway.
There will also be works carried out in the Water Yett Car Park within this timeframe and both pedestrians and road users are being asked to plan their journey accordingly.
The works will take place under a three-way traffic light system with shop and residential access still being maintained. Parking will be also be suspended on the High Street section of the works and on the vertical bays on the road into the Water Yett Car Park on the east side from Monday, October 28 until 5pm on Tuesday, November 12.
The temporary traffic lights will be removed and a full road closure will then be put in place from 8am on Monday, November 11, until 5pm on Wednesday, November 20.
A signed diversion route suitable to for all road traffic will be in place via the A803, A706, A993, A904 and A803.
Local bus routes will be impacted during this period and details of any required changes to regular services will be shared.
The Water Yett Car Park will also be closed on November 11 and 12.
