Work is to start on the next phase of a regeneration project in Bathgate, West Lothian.
The George Street area of the town is being transformed to improve the pedestrian precinct and work is scheduled to begin on Monday, 05 June.
The 24-week scheme will see the installation of high quality granite paving for the entire precinct area.
Paving improvements to the Steelyard and St David's Square areas were completed in 2011. These further works will see the remaining areas between St David's Square and Steelyard improved, from St David's Square to the top of the precinct.
£350,000 is being invested as part of a joint programme between West Lothian Council and town centre Business Improvement District (BID) company Enterprising Bathgate.
BID & Town Centre Manager Nairn Pearson said: "We would ask for patience from local businesses, residents and visitors while the final stage of the paving improvements for the George Street pedestrian precinct are completed.
"The works have been scheduled to start following Bathgate Procession and be completed before the Christmas in Bathgate celebrations in December to avoid impacting on major events on the town.
"The previous works have made sure that Bathgate now contains a great events space in the Steelyard, and a new civic area at St David's Square, and we are confident this final phase will deliver more improvements for Bathgate.
"The council and Enterprising Bathgate will be working together to ensure that the town centre remains open for business, building on lessons learned from the previous phase of the programme. Local businesses will be kept informed of activities, and every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum."
