Lightways (Contractors) is to begin a £3.25 million bridge refurbishment on the A898, Scotland TranServ has announced.
The company will carry out lighting and electrical refurbishments at the Erskine Bridge from Monday, 30 May.
The 20-week project involves replacing internal and bridge deck lighting with lamps on the south approach to the bridge.
In addition, high mast lights at the north of the bridge will be switched to LED lighting while the existing cable network will be refurbished.
To carry out the works safely, lane closures will take place between 8pm – 6am on:
• Monday, 30 May to Sunday, 05 June (Northbound and southbound offside to nearside lanes)
• Friday, 10 June to Sunday, 12 June (Southbound nearside lane)
• Friday, 24 June to Sunday, 36 June (Total closure of the A82 Northbound slip to the M898 Erskine Bridge)
Diversions will be in place.
Andy Fraser, operating company representative, Scotland TranServ, said: "We understand the importance of this route and its links between Glasgow and Loch Lomond and the Trossachs therefore we have done everything we can to programme the works overnight when traffic flows are lighter; therefore ensuring delays are minimal."
