Pinefield Glass Offers New Modus System

Pinefield Glass has announced the addition of the new Modus® window and door system to its catalogue.

The Elgin-based firm has said the move will "inspire a new generation of self builders and specifiers".

The window and door system is the only one to have been developed in the UK in the last decade, and the company has said the Modus not only looks better, but will perform better and is better value for money. It also meets current Scottish Building regulation requirements, including the 0.8w/m²K zero-carbon level.

In addition, the fully-integrated system means that Pinefield Glass offers Modus in three sash designs, which can be used for up to eight different types of windows and doors, giving customers thousands of different permutations to choose from.

The firm has already supplied Modus windows and doors to a number of customers and is expecting a strong interest from self builders for its 0.8w/m²K standard triple glazed unit version of the window. Even with a standard double glazed unit, Modus® achieves a U-value of 1.1 w/m²K – a significant improvement on current Scottish Building Regulations of 1.6 w/m²K.

In a statement, Bryan Yule, Managing Director, Pinefield Glass, said: "Modus® offers our customers something very different to all the other windows that are currently available in the market, from both an aesthetic and performance point of view.

"Modus® offers our customers a cost effective method of meeting current and future building performance regulations all the way through to zero-carbon and beyond. We have already had a considerable amount of interest from self builders and specifiers."
