Bridgeton Steel Structures, a subsidiary of the well-established Glasgow-based cladding manufacturer AGB Steel Products Ltd, has announced the launch of its cold-rolled steel kit buildings business.
Bridgeton Steel Structures has developed a unique software package, which can design and supply quotations for cold-rolled steel kit buildings for domestic, industrial and commercial use. Available in both Mono-Pitch and Dual-Pitch roof configurations, BSS buildings can be clad in single skin steel profiled sheeting or insulated composite panels, giving their customers a comprehensive range of options for their building application.
BSS are in the process of recruiting a nationwide network of approved distributors who will be responsible for marketing, selling and installing these highly specified buildings.
Brian Garvey, Managing Director of AGB Steel Products said: "We are delighted to announce the launch of our innovative new company, which will bring to the market a constantly improving level of quality and service for AGB Steel Products as well as Bridgeton Steel Structures, underpinned by real expertise in the metal construction sector.
"I am also delighted to announce the appointment of Paul Hanratty as the General Manager of BSS. Paul has worked closely with Keith Marshall and Graham Reiss to bring this exciting project to market."
The BSS software allows distributors to simply input the dimensions of the required building, then using user-friendly controls, they can position doors, windows, rooflights and roller shutters to give the customer an instant quotation - including a 3-d “walk-through” rendition of the finished project. Using rigidised, high-tensile steel structural components, BSS have produced a range of buildings which, in many cases, comprise lighter structural members than conventional cold-rolled buildings, making transportation and site handling more efficient.
Once the customer is happy with the look of their building, the materials are ordered and processed automatically and a full set of engineering and installation drawings is produced for the installation phase of the project.
This results in highly efficient project timescales, with buildings taking as little as four weeks from design to delivery.
“Quality and innovation are at the heart of what we do here,” said Keith Marshall, BSS Manager, “Our standard building designs are pre-engineered to ensure compliance with the relevant design codes, meaning our customers always get a building which is durable, robust and more than fit for purpose.”
Strict in-house quality control at AGB’s Glasgow manufacturing base gives the company total component traceability throughout their processes from order to installation.
“This complete package approach”, says Hanratty, “will mean that our customers receive a first-class service, removing the complications and worries from the process of commissioning a new building. We’re beside them every step of the way.”
