Aberdeenshire is encouraging the local communities to attend one of the two public information meetings that have been organised. Updated plans for Banff Sporting Complex, as well as the Myrus Sports Complex will be on show. Those in attendance will be able to look at the displays, as well as ask any questions they may have in relation to the facilities.

The first consultation will be held on Tuesday 12 August from 6pm to 7.30pm at the Harvest Centre, Castle Street, Banff. The second will be held on Wednesday 20 August from 7.30pm to 9pm in the assembly hall at Macduff Primary School.
Following an extensive programme of engagement opportunities, the local community has helped to shape the proposed facilities for the towns. Planning permission has been granted for an extension to the swimming pool, the creation of a pavilion with covered seating, an all-weather track, a cycle track, a tennis court and parking facilities at Banff Academy, while approval was also granted for a sports and community centre, floodlighting and associated car and bus parking at Myrus Recreation Park in Macduff.
Both applications have been linked to the proposed construction of a Tesco supermarket at Canal Park in Banff. Aberdeenshire Council has said it will return to the Court of Session to secure a Common Good Order to allow works to progress.
