Almost two years after acquiring the Aberdeen drainage specialist Drain Devils, the Lanes Group has seen the business increase, with more staff and managers, additional plant and equipment - and new clients.
Boss Diane Hepburn, who co-founded the Drain Devils business in 1997, explained: "Like Lanes, Drain Devils always offered a round the clock service, and had a reputation for quality and professionalism, so our own clients have been happy with the arrangement.
"On top of that we are now servicing existing Lanes clients in Scotland to lessen the load on Castlebrae, which operates Lanes' depots in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and we have taken on new business as well.
"Yet another new jet vac tanker and camera van pack are due to arrive any day, and we've increased our management team to offer an even better and more efficient service to customers across the Grampian region. It's going very well."
MD of Lanes, Wayne Earnshaw, said acquiring Drain Devils has proved to be a great move for Lanes: "It demonstrates Lanes' commitment to providing top quality service across Scotland and brings us closer to our target of having a depot within easy reach of every client. And we are increasing our own expertise by adding Drain Devils' offshore drainage skills to our list of specialisations, so the benefits are two-way."
Drain Devils has kept its own name and brand but sports Lanes' eyecatching pink livery to reflect its membership of the Group.
The rest of Scotland is served by Castlebrae Drainage Services in Glasgow and Edinburgh, which became part of the Lanes Group in 2005.
