Drew Connell has scooped this year's much coveted Scottish Building Federation's Past President's golf trophy, beating off some tough competition at Rosemount Golf Club, Blairgowrie to take the 2009 title.
Taking place on the 27th August, the event involved eight of the Federation’s Past Presidents.
Mr Connell was presented with the prize from the Scottish Building Federation’s current President, Ian Robb.
Mr Robb said: "This year’s Past President’s golf competition was, as always, great fun and highly competitive. It’s a great social event to meet up with former colleagues and reminisce about days past. We also found ourselves chatting about the current challenges facing the industry."
Drew added: "The Past President's golf competition is one of the highlights in our calendar and I was delighted to win. It was a tough but enjoyable round on a fantastic course."
Michael Levack, Chief Executive and former President of the Scottish Building Federation added his congratulations saying the tournament was a huge success with Drew Connell a worthy winner.
"The event also provided an opportunity for us to update our Past Presidents with news from across the industry and to discuss the key issues it currently faces. These are tough times for Scottish construction.
"Besides being great fun, social events such as these are a great opportunity to get some useful insight from our former Federation Presidents based on their many years of collective industry experience. More than ever, the industry needs the benefit of clear leadership and a strong voice and SBF Presidents past and present continue to play a crucial role in fighting the industry’s corner. And on top of that, they play a mean game of golf," he said.
