Fashion and homeware retailer, Matalan, is to move into Moray with the announcement that it will be the first tenant at the Elgin Retail Park on Edgar Road.
Elgin is one of three locations that have been chosen by the company for new stores as part of an expansion drive sparked by an increase in trading.
The national retailer, which specialises in clothing and homeware, already has a presence in many Scottish cities with branches in Aberdeen, Inverness, Glasgow and Edinburgh. Most of its 203 stores are in out-of-town shopping centres.
Katherine Mackintosh, Development Manager, Robertson Property, the developer behind the Elgin Retail Park, said: "Matalan's decision to move into Elgin demonstrates that confidence is beginning to grow again within the retail sector.
"As a local developer we are delighted to be bringing new retail experiences to Elgin, giving consumers a wider choice of retail offering."
