A construction partner, Mansell, has raised £1,016,894 for charity following a year-long fundraising drive to mark the company’s 100th anniversary.
Mansell employees worked hard to raise as much money as possible through a number of different initiatives throughout the year.
In addition, the company reached a milestone in its trading by achieving revenues of £1bn.
A focal point of the fundraising year was the Centurion's Charity Challenge, a 1,300 mile chariot relay. A pedal-powered rickshaw was converted into a Roman chariot and more than 300 intrepid employees took turns to pedal it past each regional office.
Each regional office also organised sporting and social events ranging from cake sales and barbecues, summer balls and zip sliding across the River Clyde to an 'It's a Knockout' competition between suppliers.
Thanks to the hard work of our employees and the support of our supply chain, cheques are being presented to a core group of over 30 well-deserving national and local charities with a further 80 charities set to benefit as well.
