Principal and specialist contractor, McKean Group, has completed a number of prestigious projects worth more than £18m, including the largest composite concrete flooring scheme in Europe.
Four large projects have just been completed across all McKean's operating divisions - McKean & Company, Mayfield Construction Co. Ltd and Hudson Group.
Glasgow-based McKean & Company and Hudson have completed a £3.7m contract for global transport and logistics firm, DSV. McKean & Company was the principal contractor to build the 55,000sq ft warehouse distribution facility at Eurocentral in Lanarkshire. The project included 11,000 sq ft of high specification office accommodation, 10 loading bays and dock levellers and a 90,000 sq ft concrete yard complete with security gatehouse.
McKean & Company has also completed a £1m flood prevention scheme for Argyll and Bute Council in Dunoon. The 32 week contract was completed well ahead of schedule in only 24 weeks. McKean & Company was the principal contractor to construct the flood alleviation scheme which included works to install 600m of drainage piping in a residential road, a twin sea outfall to discharge floodwater into the sea, as well as ditch work.
In the North West of England, Mayfield Construction, which operates in civil engineering, contemporary building, landscaping and concrete flooring, has completed a £7.1m contact for Balfour Beatty at the QEII Hospital in Birmingham.
Mayfield supplied and fixed eight reinforced concrete floors at the hospital, totalling 130,000 sq m - at the time of construction this was the largest composite concrete flooring scheme in Europe.
Mayfield has also handed over the second phase of Liverpool Science Park - a 4-storey office development with internal car parking and external landscaping, for Neptune Developments. The £6.5m project earned Mayfield a BREEAM 'Excellent' rating as well as an International Safety Award.
Dave Noar, Group Managing Director of McKean Group, said: "We provide our clients with a diverse range of services and it's very satisfying to complete projects on time or ahead of schedule across all areas.
