Two neighbours living on the Menie estate where Donald Trump Plans to build

a £1bn golf resort refuse to sell their properties to the entrepreneur.

Farmer Michael Forbes and neighbour David Milne are opposed to Aberdeenshire Council using a compulsory purchase order. They are not open to negotiations.

Mr Forbes told BBC Scotland he would fight against a "playground for the rich", Mr Milne said a legal challenge could take years.

Trump's contentious plans for two championship golf courses, 950 holiday homes and 500 houses were the subject of a public local inquiry by the Scottish Government after they were rejected by an Aberdeenshire Council committee.

The plans were then backed by Finance Secretary John Swinney under a number of conditions including the protection of sand dunes and wildlife on the estate.

A Trump Organisation spokesman said the door was open for negotiation.

Aberdeenshire Council said compulsory purchase would only be used as a last resort.
