Work has started on the construction and installation of a new timber pedestrian bridge at Vinney Den Letham.
Part of the funding for the work, which includes the upgrading of the footpath link, is being provided by the Angus Environmental Trust (AET) through the Landfill Communities Fund.
In partnership with Letham and District Community Council, the trust has also secured £12,000 part-financing from the Scottish Government and the European Community Rural Tayside LEADER 2007-2013 Programme.
AET Chairman Roy Madden welcomed the start of the works saying: "The environmental trust has been pleased to work with Letham and District Community Council and make a contribution to the cost of constructing a new bridge and upgrading the path. The completed project will enhance the area, making it more attractive for residents and visitors alike."
Angus Council is managing the project and Dundee Plant Co Ltd is carrying out the work; the total project cost being £30,000.
Work started on site on Wednesday and should be finished in around four weeks.
