Arbroath Bus Station is set for a major overhaul to improve facilities for passengers and office workers on the site.
Angus Council's Infrastructure Services Committee have agreed to invest £420K in the bus station improvement programme.
The proposed changes, which have still to be approved through the planning process, include: the closing off of the walkway between the main bus station buildings and the existing toilets, the re-location of the cafe and the waiting room, the installation of a fully accessible toilet, the creation of a secure waiting area for taxi passengers, a new dedicated entrance for the Stagecoach offices and the extension of the roof over the passenger concourse.
Welcoming the proposed improvements committee convener David May said: "These works will greatly improve the facilities at the bus station making it more pleasant and a safer area for passengers, both local people and visitors, and the people who work there."
