A low maintenance garden has been completed to improve the appearance of the site of the old St Peter's school, South Crescent Road, Irvine.
As part of their SQA Rural Skills award with the Scottish Training Foundation, four pupils from Ardrossan Academy carried out the work.
The hoardings around the site of old school were painted by pupils in the summer.
The small garden is planted with a variety of species that are hardy and suitable for a coastal environment, and require minimum maintenance. Coloured gravel is laid to imitate the sea and sand.
Irvine Bay Regeneration Company contributed £2,584 towards the cost of materials.
