Thomas And Adamson's Laboratory Experts Turn to Crime

With a track record for project and cost managing laboratory build and fit-out work in Scotland, Thomas and Adamson's expertise has taken them into the world of crime, for two projects.

The first, working as cost managers and project managers on behalf of Unicorn Property Group for it's 100,000 sq. ft. office development, Dundee One, the team included David Young the practices' laboratories expert to help the Unicorn Property Group secure the Scottish Police Services Authority (SPSA) as tenant to one of the 50,000 sq. ft. buildings, City Court.

The Dundee One project comprises two buildings River Court and City Court, and will be the largest speculative office development in Dundee for a generation. The new SPSA forensic unit will house Scotland's DNA database, biology and chemistry laboratories and fingerprint and scene examination units, they have also been appointed as Project and Cost Managers for the fit-out of the SPSA building.

Through demonstrating the adaptability of our commercial office and general laboratory expertise our team's second crime appointment is as cost managers for the new Scottish Crime Campus at Gartcosh, Glasgow on behalf of the Scottish Government.

Including offices, forensic laboratories and support buildings, it is proposed that the multi agency campus will enable the co-location of the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency, the Serious Organised Crime agency, Her Majesties Revenue and Customs, the Scottish Police Services Authority (SPSA) Glasgow Forensic Services, and parts of the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.

David Young one of our Partners at T&A said: "I am delighted that our specialist laboratories experience helped Unicorn Property Group secure the SPSA to Dundee One.

"The Scottish Crime Campus in Gartcosh is a fantastic opportunity for T&A to be part of a highly specialised team, all recognised as experts within their disciplines for this type of work and it underlines T&A's proven track record in this field."

Commenting Steven Garry of Unicorn Property Group said: "Having T&A on board at Dundee One enabled us to demonstrate our understanding of the SPSA's requirements right at the start of our discussions. T&A has great knowledge and experience in what it takes to deliver successful laboratory projects and this is invaluable expertise for developers."
