Thomas and Adamson (T&A) have been appointed as project managers for the refurbishment of the Royal Commonwealth Pool in Edinburgh.

Working on behalf of the City of Edinburgh Council they will manage the £37m refurbishment programme which includes a new £50m pool, a new 25m Diving Pool and a new 25m Training Pool.

John Graham (Dromore) Ltd has been appointed as the main contractor.

The Grade A listed building will be transformed into the diving venue for the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

T&A will also manage the creation of new changing villages, new gym and fitness studios, café facilities, a dry dive training facility, and a new children's play area.

There will be a complete overhaul of the mechanical and electrical services installation, with much of the new design incorporating long term energy efficiency and sustainability proposals.

The new facility will provide state of the art facilities for everyone from elite swimmers/divers to keen keep fit enthusiasts, as well as those looking for recreational activities.
