Over 80 properties in the Little Deny Road and Overton Crescent areas of Denny are due to see a £2m improvement package rolled out from late spring this year.
A recent meeting of Falkirk Council's Policy and Resources Committee heard how various internal and external enhancements would benefit tenants who are resident in seven blocks of flats.
The work was successfully tendered by in-house contractors Corporate and Neighbourhood Services.
Internal improvements will include installation of new high efficiency gas central heating systems, new high performance windows (and doors where appropriate), new kitchens and bathroom installations and new or upgraded electrical systems where required.
Externally, work will be carried out on fitting new enhanced wall and roof insulation, new rendering, refurbished door entry systems and redecorated common stairs and access hallways.
Cllr Linda Gow, Convener of the Policy and Resources Committee said: "This work represents a significant investment for our tenants and when complete, will bring their homes up to a modern and energy efficient standard that will ultimately save them money over the longer term."
Once work is started it is expected that it will be completed over a ten month period.
