Dumfries And Galloway Super Campus Officially Opened

Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond will officially open the new £38.5m Dumfries and Galloway super campus later.

The Dumfries and Galloway College opened in September next to the University of Glasgow and the University of the West of Scotland.

The new site at the Crichton replaced the old building in Heathhall.

Mr Salmond said: "I am confident that students from near and far will enjoy the learning experience this impressive new facility offers."

College principal Tony Jakimciw described the building, facilities and resources as "first-class".

He said the official opening was a "tremendous boost for staff and students".
