Layher Ltd, a leading modular scaffolding manufacturer and supplier, is to enhance its facilities in Livingston.

"We are paying particular attention to stockholding capability to ensure that ordering and delivery times are minimised," said Layher's Regional Manager in Scotland, Ian Wilson. "At the same time, the greater space available will enable us to house a wider range of products and components than ever before."
The company also announced a new manufacturing plant near its base in Eibensbach, southern Germany.
Layher's UK Managing Director, Sean Pike, said: "At a time when much of the construction industry is looking nervously towards 2009, we believe that the steps we are taking in both Germany and Scotland are even more important.
"These are major developments and both clearly look well beyond business in 2009 towards continuing growth long into the future."
The new-build in Germany will comprise of four warehouses, three production buildings and office space located on a 6.8 hectare site.
