More improvements are on the way for Stenhousemuir town centre.

Construction is set to start next month on the new Tryst Community Centre as part of the final phases of the regeneration project for the town centre.

The design will tie into other completed improvements in the town centre which include a new library, foodstore and shops.

Once the old Tryst Community Centre is demolished, its services will be temporarily relocated to the Dobbie Hall from February 9 during the day and to Larbert High school each evening and weekend until the development is completed sometime in July.

This will mean additional disturbance to users of Park Drive and local residents whilst construction takes place.

Falkirk Convener of Economic Development, Councillor Craig Martin, said: "The work soon to be underway will finalise the dynamic improvements in the town centre. "Town centre regeneration is important not only to the people of Stenhousemuir. It's playing a big part in our plans to transform our area and economy through My Future's in Falkirk."

Work on new retail units and car parking on the vacant site on King Street to service the traditional side of the town centre is also expected to start in the spring
