Angus Provost Ruth Leslie Melville MBE will officially open the new facilities at Arbroath Sports Centre on Thursday 29 January.
The £180,000 project included the refurbishment and upgrading of the Active gym, active studio and performance gym; installation of a life fitness resistance circuit, four power plates, cardiovascular equipment, dance mats and other performance gym equipment.
The new Active gym and studio opened at the beginning of November and has proved popular with all the centre users. This was followed by the opening of the performance gym, upgraded in partnership with Tayside and Fife Institute of Sport.
Provost Leslie Melville said: "The new facilities at Arbroath Sports Centre will provide the opportunity for people of all ages to enjoy sport and exercise at all levels of fitness and ability.
"The council's investment in Arbroath Sports Centre is part of a commitment and strategy to encourage healthy lifestyles amongst the people of the county. The upgrading at Arbroath follows similar recent investment in the sports and leisure centres in Forfar and Montrose."
