Recipe For Success At Lomondgate

Opportunities exist for restaurant operators to serve up something really special at the new £60m Lomondgate development in Dumbarton, Scotland.

Two plots of land have been put on the market by the developer Walker Group each covered by an outline planning consent for roadside services and associated uses. Each benefits from an amazing location on the doorstep of Loch Lomond and some of the world's most spectacular countryside.

The two plots earmarked for restaurant use extend to 0.67 and 0.76 acres respectively and are available now, either for sale or on a leasehold basis.

Work has already started on a new 60 bedroom Premier Inn and Table Table restaurant on the site, which is at the heart of Lomondgate, a mixed use scheme spearheaded by Strathleven Regeneration Company and Walker Group (Scotland).

When complete the development will boast a 20 acre business park, 9 acres of roadside services with a petrol filling station and more than 300 new homes. This is in addition to the existing BBC production facility which encompasses a 10 acre site on the southern part of the development.

John Menzies of Lomondgate commercial agents Cushman & Wakefield said: "Premier Inn's decision to open at Lomondgate is testament to the strength of the location for leisure and tourism related users. We are now keen to secure two new restaurants on the adjoining land, which will benefit from its terrific prominence to the A82.

"The A82 is one of the busiest trunk roads in Scotland with an average 40,000 cars arriving at this destination every day so there is plenty of passing trade. There is also the added benefit of being near Dumbarton town centre and the new business park which will ensure lots of repeat trade."
