The new five-year repairs and maintenance contract valued at £200m was awarded to two companies - City Building (Contracts) LLP and Connaught Partnerships Limited - on 31 October 2008.
City Building won the contract for two areas of the city - the north east and north west and Connaught for the south area.
The new £40m per year contract will deliver a more comprehensive and customer-focussed service to GHA's 65,000 tenants and 26,500 homeowners. It will also provide better value for money and ensure speedier repairs that are right first time. Currently over 202,000 repairs are carried out each year.
City Building's Managing Director, Willie Docherty, said: "This is a good result for the City and people of Glasgow. City Building has won this business in a commercial competitive tender situation against some of the biggest construction companies in the UK and Europe."
