Plans for a £9m sexual health centre in Edinburgh have been approved by city councillors.
The new facility which will be the first of its kind in the UK will be constructed at the Chalmers Hospital in Lauriston.
Due for completion in 2010 the unique facility will combine family planning with genito-urinary medicine and allowing patients to be tested, diagnosed and treated under the same roof.
Around 50,000 patients a year will pass through the clinics doors.
