Road Improvements Set To Commence At Livingston

West Lothian Council is set to start work on major road improvement schemes at four locations in Livingston.

Removal of Braehead Roundabout is to commence and installation of a new signalised crossroads junction at Howden.

A new link road from Howden East Road at Almond Interchange to the B7015 at Howden will be constructed. A signalised junction will be installed at the north junction with Howden East Road and a give-way, restricted priority junction will be installed at the south junction with the B7015.

A small roundabout will be installed at the junction of Almond Road and Howden East Road at Craigshill.

A small roundabout at the junction of Howden South Road and the B7015 at Howden will also be built.

The contract has been programmed to begin on Monday 19 January for a period of 15 weeks. The anticipated completion date is Friday 1 May.

"There will inevitably be traffic disruption during this contract period, particularly in the Howden area," said a West Lothian Council spokesman. " However, we will endeavour to keep this to a minimum and we will manage traffic flows to minimise congestion."
