Planning permission for the project was granted in August 2007 and work has already begun on site.

Muir will deliver City Court to shell stage by January 2009, allowing the specialist fit out of the Forensics Laboratory by the end of March. Once complete, Muir will concurrently complete the build and fit out of River Court.

Steven Garry, director of Unicorn, said: "Muir has been tasked with delivering a critical component in the Dundee Waterfront 30 Year plan. Muir demonstrated, during the tendering process, that they are the right company to deliver these two buildings."

Alan Muir of Muir, said: "Our selection for this project at the start of an uncertain year for our industry is fantastic news. We look forward to working with Unicorn Property Group to provide the successful completion of DundeeOne, and we welcome the opportunity of building on our company's relationship for the future."
