Councillor Leslie Angus, Chair of Services Committee, has announced the appointment of a dedicated project manager for the new Anderson High School Project.
The firm which has been appointed is Robinson Low Francis LLP (RLF), a construction and property consultancy with offices in Edinburgh. The consultancy has specific experience in building new schools.
The project management team will be led by Dr Alister Coutts. Dr Coutts will be in Shetland next week, to begin meeting with the people involved in the project.
Councillor Angus said: "I am pleased that the Council has appointed Robinson Low Francis to this crucial post, to support one of the largest capital projects which the Council will undertake.
"It is important to have dedicated time on the project, to make sure the Council gets the right result - for the school and for the community - at an affordable cost. This post will be key in advising the Council on the best approach, as the project develops."
