The international engineering, construction, services and investment group, Balfour Beatty, has announced today that Balfour Beatty WorkPlace - formerly known as Haden Building Management - and a market leader in the provision of facilities management and M&E services to both the private and public sectors, has acquired Colledge Trundle and Hall Limited (CTH).

CTH specialises in the design and installation of automatic energy control systems for buildings, for a consideration of £2.85 million cash.

It operates in a number of markets that are complementary to Balfour Beatty WorkPlace's core business. Its customers include DEFRA, Sainsbury's and the University of Cambridge and, in addition, it is working on a number of PFI schools projects.

The acquisition will enable Balfour Beatty WorkPlace to expand its service in the more complex market of energy management.

Balfour Beatty WorkPlace was re-branded last month to reflect its position as a total facilities management provider.

Its customers include British Energy, Royal Mail, the Metropolitan Police Authority, the Department for Work and Pensions and BT.
