Six new apprentices have just started a four-year training program with River Clyde Homes (RCH).
The apprentices, consisting of two joiners, two plumbers and two plasterers, were selected from over 300 applications.
RCH is working with Inverclyde Council's Economic and Social Regeneration Service and Skills Development Scotland as part of the £500,000 Modern Apprenticeship Training in Construction initiative.
Chief Executive of RCH, Karen Neary, said: "The recruitment campaign showed a real desire for apprenticeships and was a real endorsement of Inverclyde as an excellent location in which to live and work.
"Our investment and maintenance programmes will make a significant contribution to the local economy through the creation of job opportunities and the apprenticeship programme is an excellent example of this."
Councillor Jim Clocherty, Regeneration Convener, said: "If we want our young people to stay in Inverclyde, we must provide training and job opportunities for them - the apprenticeship programme is part of the Council's commitment to that. The scheme has been extremely popular, with over 300 applicants, and I would like to wish the successful candidates a long and happy career."
