Robertson Eastern gave architecture students from Robert Gordon University a site tour of the new Carnoustie High School on Monday November 10.
The school, which is being built as part of Angus Council's £50m PPP re-building programme, will be completed and handed over by the end of November.
Carnoustie High School has been developed during the second phase which will deliver a further two primary schools. The first phase of the project has already delivered four new and improved primary schools in Forfar and Carnoustie.
Students from the RGU Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and the Built Environment were invited to the site by Robertson Eastern director Rob Leslie who has recently been made an honorary professor of the university department.
Throughout the educational visit, students were given a practical insight into PPP procurement and local authority design standards.
Rob Leslie said: "It was with great pride that I recently accepted an Honorary Professorship of RGU Scott Sutherland School. The appointment formalises an association which has benefited the University, myself and Robertson. Part of my role is to forge closer links between staff, students and industry to provide them with a practical outlook on the profession.
"Robertson has significant experience in the Scottish PPP markets and the visit has been extremely valuable to the students by giving them an insight into the development of modern educational facilities which contribute positively to the learning outcomes of children."
Robertson involvement in the Angus schools project comprises Robertson Capital Projects as overall project manager and investor, Robertson Eastern which will deliver the design and build contract and Robertson Facilities Management which will provide a range of hard and soft facilities management services throughout the 30-year project duration.
Robertson has already delivered phases one and two of the £72m Aberdeenshire Schools PPP project and is currently in the construction phase of the £100m Dundee Schools PPP project.
