Building company, akp, has launched a major initiative, Building Pride, to encourage staff to strive to attain the highest possible standards and to demonstrate to clients the value and pride everyone places on their role to deliver quality jobs.

Managing Director, Ian McEwan, who founded the business in 1994, said: "Business relationships are vital to the future of our company and we are certain that our renewed concentration on Building Pride is a winner.

"Such standards of professionalism filter throughout and beyond the business, to our suppliers and our clients, and enhance the awareness of collaborative working and excellence at all levels of delivery. It's about ensuring that these strong foundations are in place to see us through to future expansion."

Workshops continue to be staged throughout the company to roll out the programme and significant investments will be made to update marketing materials, signage and vehicle livery to proudly display the new company ethos.

Ian added: "At akp we build people as well as structures. We've always taken pride in our work but when you take stock of why we are all working to achieve standards of excellence, it acts as a catalyst, providing both motivation and inspiration."

Based in East Kilbride, akp employs 100 people working in three key divisions, Contracts, Interiors and Healthcare.

The company's projected turnover for 2008/09 is in excess of £20m.
