Earlshaugh Wind Farm Development

Proposals for a 36-turbine wind farm near the Devil's Beef Tub in the Scottish Borders are to be considered on Wednesday.

Due to the proximity of the 180MW development plan by Wind Energy Ltd Dumfries and Galloway councillors must also consider the project however the final decision will rest with the Scottish Government.

Annandale and Eskdale area committee have received a report that says the council are not in a position to properly assess the landscape impact of the plans.

The planned Earlshaugh development has caused no objections by planning officials on the grounds of access archaeology, transport or noise.

If the planning application is approved it will come with conditions such as road junction improvements to accommodate construction traffic and repairs to any damage which might be caused to the road networks.
