Pupils from Madras College are gaining experience of Building Surveying with Hardies in St Andrews.
Michael Gray from Newport on Tay and Darren McKenzie from Tayport are spending an afternoon a week at Hardies this term through to Christmas.
The two young people were selected on the basis of completing an application form and backing this up with a covering letter followed by a formal interview to give them vital experience in how to professionally apply for jobs in the correct manner.
Managing Partner Jim McArthur, Judith Darnell, Business Manager for Hardies and Lynne Suttie, Senior Building Surveyor all visited the school and gave a presentation on Building Surveying and its role in today's marketplace.
Jim McArthur, Managing Partner of Hardies, said: "Difficulties in obtaining staff in the past encouraged us to develop a relationship with Madras to identify who may be our employees of the future.
"In addition we also provide students on Building Surveying courses with valuable work experience during term time and throughout the entire duration of their courses and we assist students when they graduate as well through our approved RICS APC programme which allocates them a supervisor, counsellor and mentor who support them throughout the APC training period."
