The Latest phase of Stirling's Forthside development has been given the go-ahead by Stirling Council's Planning Panel. The Panel, Chaired by Councillor Alasdair MacPherson, granted planning permission for a new civic square, conference hotel, office blocks, restaurant and bar at the city's new waterfront site.
The Panel gave careful consideration to each of the applications before them, concentrating on the size, scale, design and visual impact on the surrounding area.
Planning Panel Chair Alasdair MacPherson said: "This next phase is an important stepping stone in meeting the aspirations of what is an exciting era for our city.
"We must ensure that the development is attractive and functional; a public area that will become a social meeting and greeting place for local residents and visitors to enjoy.
"As Stirling continues to grow and prosper, this must not be at the expense of other countries, that is why the Panel has agreed that Conditions will be set on the development to ensure that building materials are sourced which are both ethical and sustainable."
No objections to the development had been received.
