Work to repair storm damage to the clock tower and spire at Aytoun Hall in Auchterarder is to start on Friday 3 October 2008.
The works are part of Perth and Kinross Council's repairs and maintenance programme, and are not part of the planned programme to upgrade the hall.
The works are set to take two weeks to complete, and during that time vehicle access to Chapel Wynd will be diverted via the emergency access roads around the Community School of Auchterarder. Pedestrian access will be available through Chapel Wynd as of Monday 6 October.
The main hall will be closed, along with the committee rooms, from Friday 3 October to Sunday 19 October.
On Friday 3 October the housing and registrars office will also be closed to the public. The Library will remain open to the public, but access will only be gained via the Community School grounds.
On Sunday the 5th October a crane will be brought to site which will result in the High Street being closed to vehicles from 8am to 12pm. Traffic diversions will be in operation during this time via Castleton and Hunter Street. Plans of the diversion route are being displayed in the local Library.
