A specialist engineer has distanced himself from the proposed £72m Chris Hoy Velodrome for Glasgow's Commonwealth Games in 2014.
Ron Webb, a key cycle track specialist and former Australian cycling Champion, has left the project before construction begins.
The 4,000-seat stadium has been designed by 3D Reid and Sports Concepts and is to be named after triple gold medallist Hoy.
Webb has had a part in the design of nearly every significant velodrome built in the last 40 years, including the Sydney and Athens Olympic tracks and the new London 2012 track.
Balfour Beatty, HBG, Laing O'Rourke and Morrison are believed to be considering a bid for the project when Glasgow City Council put the project out to tender.
