Duke's Housing Plans Under Fire

Richard Scott, the tenth Duke of Buccleuch, has caused outrage by buying the £10m land local residents had planned to turn into an eco-campus and a green village.

The Scottish Duke bought the Seal-Hayne agricultural college site near Newton Abbot, Devon, although the land was given to a community in perpetuity more than 100 years ago.

The Duke plans to build a 1,200 home scheme.
