The new state-of-the-art sports and leisure facilities at St Joseph's Academy, Ayrshire will open its doors on Monday 15 September to the wider community.

Councillor Douglas Reid, Leader of the Council said: "The development of excellent sports and leisure facilities at the new build St Joseph's Academy was a key part of the design process.

"The facilities greatly benefit the pupils and employees within the school however there is a brilliant opportunity for the wider community to also benefit from its usage. The Council doesn't want such a resource lying unused outside of school hours.


"The Council anticipates that most of the Sports clubs that have formerly used facilities at St Joseph's Academy will be accommodated within the new building."

The Council’s Community Recreation section will now run St Josephs Leisure Centre from 5pm to 10pm Monday to Friday and from October the centre will also be available at the weekend. A new booking system has been introduced and will be managed by employees from Community Recreation.
