One Joiner Apprentice Kristofer Stephen said: "I’m glad to have such a great opportunity to work for the Council where I’ll learn a lot of different skills."

The young apprentices also attend Forth Valley College and the City of Glasgow Building Colleges’ on day release to gain national qualifications.

Stirling Council Portfolio Holder with responsibility for Housing Services Councillor Alasdair MacPherson: "At a time when the building industry is slowing down it is important to invest in our young people. Our apprenticeship scheme gives them the skills and qualifications, which are in demand now and will be in the future. We are helping them reach their full potential, not just to benefit them but to the benefit of their communities who need quality trades people."

The Apprentices are: Kristofer Stephen, David Taylor, Ross Wilson, Liam Martin, Scott McGill, James Gray, David Laird, Ryan Smith, Craig Dolby, Gareth Allan, James Gray and Stuart Kirkpatrick.
