Dundee’s Perth Road has reopened six weeks ahead of schedule.

After months of work, the replacement of the gas main has been completed.

The opening was marked as community leaders travelled down the road on a vintage bus.

Shopkeepers in the area had reported a drop in profits since the work began in April.

West End Community Council Chairman, Alan Young, said: "I'm delighted that it's open. It's been quite a while in coming and traders, in particular, have suffered a bit."
