Miller Construction has appointed Bob Batty to the position of Associate Director for Major Projects.
Bob joins the leading construction firm from Skanska, where he was Bid Director for over two years, prior to which he spent 12 years with Bovis Lend Lease as Operations Manager. In both roles, Bob was responsible for project bids and business development for Major Projects, working extensively within the education, defence, transport and healthcare sectors.
With over 36 years' experience in the Scottish construction industry, Bob, who is a qualified Civil Engineer, brings with him a wealth of knowledge and expertise. In his new role, Bob will oversee projects from bid to completion and will support the business development team with a focus on developing new markets, as well as furthering partnering arrangements.
Bob said: "I am delighted to be joining this market-leading company and look forward to contributing towards further growth for the division. I have been particularly impressed by the partnering approach adopted by Miller Construction which is a more cost-effective alternative to the traditional procurement route and is a simple, yet effective, approach in achieving the best results possible and I look forward to having the opportunity to demonstrate this to clients."
Gordon Kew, Major Projects Director, Miller Construction, said: "I am extremely pleased to welcome Bob on board. He brings with him extensive industry experience and knowledge of the sector and will be a real asset. Attracting highly regarded individuals such as Bob is central to our ability to successfully deliver high quality projects for our clients and to the continued growth of Miller Construction and our Major Projects business."
