A £10m project is underway at Aberdeen Airport to upgrade facilities.

Phase one of the work on international arrivals includes the creation of a heated walkway and £3m stands for aircraft parking which will house the latest generation of quieter and cleaner aircraft.

Subsequent phases of the project will see an extension to the international arrival hall, enhancements to passport control and baggage reclaim.

Kevin Brown, Aberdeen Airport's managing director observed: "We need to provide excellent facilities with improved capacity to cater for the additional numbers of passengers flying to our city. The international arrivals project will further encourage international tourists to visit this part of the world which has so much to offer."

Last month a £2m forecourt development, including the construction of an access lane for taxis and service buses in addition to a drop-off area for passengers, got underway.
