Job Losses Expected At Scotia Homes

Up to 40 jobs could go at Scotia Homes in the wake of the property slump.

The north east house builder has said it is carrying out a reorganisation of the business.

A maximum of 20 from both Scotia North, based at Ellon, and Scotia South, based at Forfar could go.

Managing Director, Martin Bruce, said: "This decision to undertake a reorganisation of the business has not been taken lightly and was only decided after a very thorough review of the market conditions. It is a measure we have to take to adjust our property businesses for the future.

"Although we are fortunate at the level of advanced sales, the review will help to ensure long-term stability, albeit going forward at reduced levels."
