The Reston station on the East Coast Main Line could be reopened after 40 years, as Transport Minister Stewart Stevenson visits the Berwickshire village for talks.
Following a Holyrood proposal the Minister will visit the area to hear the case for reopening the station in person.
Conservative MSP for the area John Lamont said: "The Minister was very keen that he actually came down to Berwickshire to have a look at Reston for himself so that he could better understand the opportunities that could be opened up by having a station."
Residents believe the opening of transport links would benefit the local economy.
